Not really an update.

Well, I had my appointment today. Am relieved to know that just about everything on my list were things she already did. She said there were no facts about negative reactions to the vitamin K shot and it's better to have it. They do not put the eye drops in the babies eyes unless there is a risk of gonorrhea or chlamydia.

Faye is breech still, when she checked and when she did the internal exam she said that she is really low and breech. My cervix is open about a fingertip, but she said that could and most likely is due to birthing Maddox. My cervix is long and high.

She did the Fetal Fibronectin test and took a urine sample. I do not know when I will get the results of either back. She was going to tell me when I could expect the results of the FF test, but didn't finish, stating that she wasn't sure because the hospital got new computer systems and that always makes things screwy.

Everything went well, so I guess I'll just update when I get those results back.

Faye is barring down again into my pelvis and causing a lot of hip and buttocks pains. Hopefully that means nothing though.

Pain and Pressure

This past week or so I've felt increasingly miserable. I don't remember ever getting to a point in my pregnancy with Maddox where I felt like I was just physically done, but I have! (Refer to earlier post).

Over the weekend, it's gotten worse. I have a horrible time getting up and down. Rolling over in bed is a HUGE chore and really hurts. I waddle when I wake and am completely exhausted going up the stairs. At Walmart today (getting fabric for Faye's blanket), I was holding my belly from the underside as I went through the aisle. I feel a TON of pressure in my pelvis and the lower part of my abdomen when I walk. The more I walk, the worse it gets. She feels like she is pressing down harder and harder. When I go to the bathroom, I feel similar, like she is pressing down in my pelvis and sometimes even in my birth canal.

I also have hip & hip joint pain, sciatica and similar pain throughout my entire lower back/buttocks area. Pretty much everything from my lower back/hips down to my hip/thigh joints is just miserable. I feel like my legs are going to fall off and that I am carrying a twelve pound bowling ball in a flour sack around my lower waist.

Tomorrow is my doctor's appointment. I'll be 31 weeks & 6 days, but it's my 32 Week appointment. I'll be updating tomorrow than, but I am really excited for this appointment. I don't enjoy internal exams, by ANY stretch of the imagination, but I am hoping to find out that my cervix is still high and thick and she will also be doing a test that will determine my risk for delivering in the next 2 weeks (and hopefully that comes up negative - meaning NO risk).

Hmmm...

I completely forgot to post about the wraps that I "made".

After my post on March 10th about baby wearing, I made Clayton bring me over to Joanne Etc and found some fabric. I "made" a woven wrap (aka bought a piece of fabric and had Clayton's grandma serge the ends) - which is what I am wearing Maddox in. It is a non-stretchy woven cotton fabric that is good for heavier infants and older children. I "made" 2 "Moby" wraps (aka bought a piece of jersey knit fabric and cut it in half lengthwise, so that I have two 5 yard long, 25in wide "wraps"). A Moby wrap (which is actually a brand for "stretchy wrap") is a stretchy (but not too stretchy) jersey knit/t-shirt type cotton. It is really flexible and soft - great for newborns and small infants and can be used up to 15-25lbs.

Woven wraps are usually around $100 for one and the Moby Wrap is $40. I made all three for under $40!

This was our first attempt at wrapping, so it doesn't look that great (and the poor boy was having a bad eye allergy day), we've been occasionally working on it for fun, and it's not so easy to manuveur it with this giant belly in my way and having to tie it up A LOT higher than normal, not to mention trying to wrap for the very first time with a 30lb kid LOL I have him stand on the couch and I'll put the wrap on his back, then I sit down on the couch, have him jump on and then will have him hang on while I stand up and lean forward to tie it. It works pretty good and I don't have to pick him up at all.

I tried out the stretch wrap and that was a little difficult to get it to feel comfortable on my skin because my belly is so big and it doesn't really position right. I put it on and put my brother in law's cat in there. She's such a good sport about stuff! She worked really nicely in a cradle type hold!

Anyways, I'm really excited to start carrying the little beany baby. I have one all rolled up and in a bag to bring to the hospital to try right away LOL

Still Breech

I've been wondering for about a week or so how she has been positioned. As I was watching the movie The Business of Being Born at the end of March, I did an inversion for about 20 seconds and about a half hour later (or so) when I was trying to get into bed, I felt that her head was lower (more to the right side) than normal and tried the inversion for another minute. Ever since that point, she has been turning from Breech to Transverse. I have still been feeling the feet in my pelvis, but was wondering, because I also started feeling something up to the left of my belly button AND her head wasn't consistently up in my right rib, if she had turned head down. I read something today about telling if your baby is breech, how it will feel in your pelvis, how to dig your finger tips into the bottom of your belly without hurting yourself and found that she really hasn't turned head down at all. I also found out that you cannot really move a babies head when you push on it. I had been wondering, even though the bulge felt the same as before, if maybe it was her butt now and I was just not able to tell, but when I push on it, I cannot get it to move. So I am pretty convinced that she isn't going head down at this point. Maybe I will try the inversion some more and see if there are any other techniques that I can try to get her to flip.

Done!

I've reached that point in my pregnancy where my body is just done with it. I really hope that these next few weeks go buy quickly. At least the next 5 weeks. I'm sure since I am hoping to have her not long after 37 weeks, she'll be late. Of course, as long as she is healthy, but I hope this body can handle it!

She feels SO big in there and she is murdering me from the inside. My stomach feels like it's going to split open. I had the hardest time getting off of the couch (from laying) last night while watching a movie. I had to go potty and I had the worst, sharp/stabbing/ripping pains through out my entire belly. I don't know from what and I don't know why. I had to slowly roll over (which still hurt really bad) and have Clayton pull me up into a standing position. Luckily that is gone now though. It only seems to happen when I've been laying down. I always feel pretty miserable in the morning and hate getting out of bed. It feels like she has a screwdriver in there that is assisting her in an escape out of my [insert TMI]. I don't know how she is positioned in there anymore, I still get a very large bulge just below my right rib that was her head before and lots of kicking in my pelvis, but sometimes she feels like she is head down. The bulge really hurts though. I also feel limps gliding across the left side of my belly and feel like a foot is going to come shooting out. I don't know if she is turning or stretching out, but it REALLY hurts. I also have *something* sticking into my left hip bone and digging on the underside of it.

I don't remember feeling this miserable with Maddox. I felt miserable at 32-36 weeks, but only when doing a lot of walking (walking to work, walking to the bus for doctors appointments, etc), but otherwise I felt fine. The only time I remember feeling really bad was the night before I went into labor. By the end of work, my lower back was completely numb. They wanted me to use the giant vacuum to clean up the store, but I told them that I couldn't and sat in the office to witness the drawer counting. Got home around 10-10:30PM and woke up the next morning at 4:30AM in labor.

I think that going early with Maddox has made the end (thus far) of my pregnancy more mentally stressful. It is better for them to sit and cook for the full time, but 37 weeks is considered full term and it is perfectly safe and healthy for them to come at that time. I've been mentally and emotionally ready for her to come for sometime, but now I am physically ready (she's won't be for another 5-6 weeks minimum) and REALLY hoping that she doesn't decide to stay past her due date.

Picture Update

I guess it's been awhile since I updated the pictures, or anything else.

Maddox has been doing good. The antibiotics for his ears kicked in within a day. I'm debating whether or not I should bring him back in to have them checked though. He doesn't have a fever or any other "sick" symptoms, but his ears are still bothering him. He asks me daily to clean them out because of ear wax. Only once was there actually ear wax in his ears (the very first time), but he constantly has his fingers in his ears.

Our Easter decorating, etc was minimal. He colored some eggs, but mostly made Clayton and I do it. We had some Star Wars stuff to put on them, but when we went into the living room to wait for the eggs to dry (after being colored) he asked to go to bed, so we are saving the Star Wars stuff for next year. We eventually made an Easter Bunny house (kind of like a gingerbread house), that again, was done mostly by Clayton and myself. Didn't take any pictures of that though.

Easter Morning

IMG_1836

Maddox stayed the night at my sister's house the Friday before Easter so that Clayton and I could go to the hospital Saturday morning to take my 3 hour glucose test. Maddox, My mom, and sister went to Sam's Club and Maddox talked them into buying these for me. Do they come any sweeter than him?!

Last Tuesday evening, Maddox, Clayton, and I went to the Twins game. We did so terribly! We lost 9-1! We still had a good time and Maddox thinks we won!

Blah.

Feeling pretty crummy today. I've had a back ache and belly ache since yesterday. It's one of those days I'm just begging to see a masseuse or chiropractor and contemplate tying the woven wrap tightly around my belly for some support. Maddox and I went outside to play and standing there playing catch was just killing me. It felt better to sit down, but it started to get very uncomfortable, very quickly. So I decided to try walking. I walked in circles around the lawn and luckily this is one of Maddox's most favorite games, so we raced are the yard. That started to get painful, though, too. I've been laying on the cough for awhile now and that felt good for about 30-45min before I started to get "sore" again.

Hopefully this all goes away soon. I hate when I feel too crummy to play with Maddox.
