23 Week Appointment

Today I am 22 Weeks and 6 Days. Will be 23 Weeks tomorrow, but had my appointment today.

Everything is looking good! Measured 24cm (from 19cm at 18 weeks) and gained 10lbs in the past 5 weeks! It is quite a large weight gained, but I am right in the 12-15lb total that I am supposed to be at. A total of 13lbs for me so far. Hopefully I can keep it under control the next 5 weeks! I know that all the bacon is to blame and the fast food that my mom and sister were stuffing me with!

Heart rate sounded good and she is active! Doc thinks I might have some muscle separation though because I have A LOT of pain behind my belly button. I'm going to have to find a belly support band because I will be doing a lot of growing over the next couple weeks and my belly already feels stretched to it's limit.

I know that the separation is probably partially do to picking up and carrying Maddox. I try not to, but it is hard to avoid when I am home alone with him for the majority of his waking hours. He can do most stuff on his own, but he is still only 3 years old and needs mommies help.

I go back in 5 weeks, at 28 Weeks and have my 1 hour Glucose test. Appointments at 8:30 AM, but Sarah said I could come at 8 AM for the drink, have my appointment at 8:30 and then do the blood draw at 9 AM. So we should be out of there a little after 9 AM.

Then I go back at 32 Weeks (so 4 weeks later) and Katherine will do an internal. I am assuming my next appointment will be at 34 Weeks. I have to remind her to do the strep test at that time. I never had one with Maddox because my OB was going to do it at my 36 Week appointment, but I delivered Maddox the day before my appointment.

I also need to call CPMG and figure out why they didn't send the paper work I requested. I requested Prenatal & Postnatal files from March 2004 to January 2005 and they sent over a bunch of unrelated crap and labs.

Sweet Dreams Baby Book

I got Baby Girl the most beautiful Baby Book last night. Clayton and I went to Red Lobster last night (sans Maddox) and afterwards, we stopped at Borders. I never bought a baby book for Maddox and I really regret it. I didn't want anything horribly in depth, I still plan on doing a scrapbook, but I wanted something short and simple that I could write in small facts, etc that I know I would (and DID with Maddox) forget.

Anyways, so I found this book called "Sweet Dreams Baby Book". It is GORGEOUS! It has the most beautiful illustrations in it and the softest, simplest looking pages. I am in love with it!

So far I have filled out the family tree information. Just about all I can do! But I've got that done and now it's all ready for her when she is born this May/June!

I'm falling apart!

My body feels so tired and sore. Yesterday, Maddox and I took the bus over to my mothers house. By the time we got there, I felt like my belly was going to fall off. I just wanted to rest it on something. Just take it off and lay on something LOL My back hurt a little bit, but mostly my hips and waist area - and because of my belly. It's not even big yet!

All I could do last night when we got home was flop around from side to side trying to find a comfortable position. I took some Tylenol for my belly and the sciatica that was acting up. I picked Maddox up very early in the morning (4:30am) to put him in his bed and my sciatica in my right side was so bad I could barely pick him up. I got him in bed and hobbled to the bathroom to pee before going back to bed. I still felt miserable.

This morning my sciatica isn't so bad right now, but my belly still hurt a bit, my arms and back are incredibly sore (probably from carrying Maddox all over yesterday) and my shoulders & neck are killing me. I have a headache (of course!) and every time I put my head down a little bit (chin towards chest), I feel like I'm going to throw up. I also get the burning sensation (like stretching a thigh ligament too much) down my back, but that is always, all day long, every day!

Also, I cannot even remember the last time that we had sex and I feel terrible about it. I have felt so terrible this pregnancy. It's not that I'm never in the mood. I just, physically, hurt all the time and feel so miserable. Not to mention all the other gross stuff of pregnancy, like excessive discharge, lack of bladder control, constipation, etc. I feel so miserable AND unattractive/gross!

Anyways. Maddox woke up fairly early this morning, so hopefully I can get him down for a nap early and in bed early tonight and have a chance for a shower and such. I'd really like to go take a bath by myself right now. I know that's not going to happen though.

"I do it myself!"

Maddox is really getting into the independent stage. I know most kids that are his age went through it almost a year ago, but up until a couple weeks ago, Maddox wanted me to do everything for him. He still asks for help with some things like pulling up his underwear (they always get twisted).. and some other things I cannot think of right now. LOL Everything else we try to help with, we get yelled at - "NO! I do it by MYSeeeeeeeeelf!" Hopefully that means he'll be trying to get his own shirt, pants, etc on. He is supposed to be doing that as well, but he would never even try before. Especially since he'd rather run around naked! He can take OFF his own clothes now, since we started refusing to do it for him. If he wants his clothes off, he can do it himself. He's the one that wants to run around naked!

The bad parts of him wanting to do everything himself. Getting DVD's, taking them out of the case, putting them into the DVD player on his own. We had raised the DVD player and VCR as high as it would go on our entertainment center when he started to pull himself up. Now he is tall enough to reach everything! Luckily, the Wii is ONTOP of the entertainment center, so he cannot reach that. I definitely watch him so that he doesn't try to climb up the entertainment center. I've heard a lot of stories about kiddo's trying to climb up and pulling the TV onto themselves. We do not have a plasma or anything like that so it is a heavy TV.

But that's all for now. I've typed as much as I possibly can right now.

Ultrasound!

We had our Ultrasound today! First I will start out by saying that everything looked great! No problems or conditions were detected. Today is 20 Weeks and 6 Days. The baby is 13 ounces and the heartrate is 154bpm.

Sono1 Sono2

Sono3 Sono4

Sono5 Sono6

Sono7 Sono8

We didn't get any "Gender Pics" because the babies legs were crossed, but now that I am home and it's not possible, I wish I would have asked her to print one off because the view was actually pretty good. The tech, at first, said about 97% sure on the gender, but by the end of the U/S she said "Yeah, I say it's a Girl!" There were THREE distinct little lines where her vagina is, but the US tech didn't want to say 100% or completely positive because we couldn't see enough of the area to say "No! There is no penis." However, we did not see anything there (except the three lines) that would indict that there was anything sticking out. Not even the umbilical cord (which was right in front of her face!) At the end of the Ultrasound, when she finally did move one of her legs, she stuck her entire arm and fist in between her legs. Her arm was in the front and her fist was underneath her at her butt. You couldn't see ANYTHING after that.

I feel confident with this verdict, especially since most of this pregnancy, I have had a very strong "girl" feeling. I had a very strong "boy" feeling when I was pregnant with Maddox. I am usually a very naturally intuitive person, so I trust that she is a little girl!

I'm so excited to finally know the sex! Now we can pick a name and start shopping for some clothes and necessities!

I wanted to hold the little peanut so bad! It was so awesome to see her on the Ultrasound and be able to SEE all the movements I was feeling! She had the hiccups throughout the entire Ultrasound and it was really cool to see her kick. She was aggressive with the one little leg of hers! You could see her right leg going and it looked almost like she was peddling a bike!

So that it all really. We're done to Faelyn Audrey or Audrey Lorraine. I feel like I would prefer Faelyn Audrey Lorraine, but that is way too long! She does not seem like an Ella at all. Definitely seems like an Audrey and can definitely pull of a unique, uncommon name like Faelyn (Faye is a good fit too!).
