Maddox says:

This morning on Jack's Big Music show there was a song about Ireland that says the hills are green and the river is green, etc.. and Maddox says "I don't want to go to Ireland" and I ask why and Maddox says "because the rivers are green."

After going to the bathroom, I tell Maddox to wash his hands and flush the toilet and than I leave the bathroom. Maddox tells Jenna that he has something to say to me and Jenna tells me so I go into the bathroom. I walk in and Maddox says "I know to go to the bathroom and flush the toilet and wash my hands! I know how! You don't have to tell me, Mom!"

We mixed up my birthday cake batter and I poured it into the pans. Maddox wanted to like the spatula and then he wanted more. I was scrapping the sides of the bowl with the spatula and Maddox says "This works like a charm!"

Dada

Well, I think she understands "Dada". She likes to call Daddy "Dada", but she also liked to call Mommy "Dada" and Maddox "Dada". She saw the picture of Daddy on my computer screen just now and started bouncing up and down repeating "Dada, Dada, Dada". She really loves her Dada.

Pajama Day!

Today I got to go to school with Maddox and it was Pajama day! Clayton took the morning off and hung out with Faye.

It was a pretty good day, I got to meet all his friends and see what he does at school. Today was a special day, so we all wore PJ's, watched two short Clifford shows, and ate Popcorn for snack. Unfortunately, I will probably not being going back to his class because his behavior wasn't the greatest with me there. He had a hard time listening to his teacher. I tried to make it very clear to him that Maddox AND Mom needed to listen to the teachers at school and Mom does not make any of the rules at school, but that was still hard for him. He wanted to be in my lap, laying on me, etc and had a hard time sitting "Criss Cross Apple Sauce" like he is supposed to with the rest of the children. He did not want to dance at the end and was in tears because he wanted to go home and play with toys instead of being at school. One of his teachers commented on how strange it was because this was always Maddox's favorite time and he loved to "Rock Out" (lol). I knew it was because I was there and told her so. He also really wanted to tell his teacher Mrs. Gellner something but after he went up to tell her, he looked back at me with tears in his eyes and a shakey lip "What did I want to tell Mrs. Gellner, Mom?" Of course he hadn't told me, he wanted to tell her, so I didn't know. It was really sad and it hurt me to see him so sad and upset in front of his teachers, I think it really bothered him. He was also pretty sad when I had to help the other kids with their bags and jackets because we were running behind schedule (for some reason they didn't come out to get this kids until 5ish minutes after class normally starts). He wanted me to help him with all of his stuff but I had to help him last and again, when he talked to Mrs. Gellner he was pretty upset. I wish he could have had a normal day with me at school with him. I really looked forward to going to school with him and had fun, but it was also really sad.

Picture Post!

I try to take at least one picture of the kids sitting side by side each month. Some months are more cooperative than others...

January 9th - Faye is always lifting her body off of the floor.

The odd position in which she sits. I contemplate calling her Pediatric Othropedic Doc.

January 16th - Showing her the Snow. We still need to go outside. Grandma Diane has been leaving her boots at home so hopefully one of these ice cold days will be a little bit warm enough to take them out in the snow!

It didn't really work though!

Yep, she hit her head... again.

Randomness

IMG_6254

I love the little wrinkles on her back because it always reminds me of when she was being born. When the bottom half of her little body was out and her arms were up and she was still in from her armpits up, she had all these wrinkles around her shoulder blades like when you lift your arms up and pull your shoulders back. Her whole back looked so soft and wrinkly. It's still as cute, just much bigger!

Crawling?

I don't know what all the technicalities are for announcing that she is crawling, but she can move forwards! She kind of drags her behind, but she has finally learned how to put one hand in front of the other and repeat. She has been rolling, sitting up, laying down, crawling backwards, and scooting backwards on her butt for quite some time now. This morning, she officially went forwards!

My trial version of Photoshop Elements ran out, so I'll have to remedy that before I can put any photos up. No crawling related ones, but pictures in general are always nice!

Scratched Cornea

Last Wednesday Maddox hit himself in the eye with the "WiiMote". It hurt pretty bad immediately and looked like it hurt bad, but after awhile he was fine. Later he was cupping his eye on and off all day saying that it was bothering him. The next day he was doing the same thing and his eye was watering a lot when we went outside, but not the other eye. We brought him in to Ready Care after Clayton got off work and it turns out that he didn't hit his eye with the Wii remote, but he poked his eye with his finger nail (he told the doctor he poked himself in the eye) and he scratched his cornea. Because of his age, they didn't want to do anything for it because it would probably irritate it more, but we had to make a trip back into the doctor on Saturday morning to have it looked at. He still has a scratch that will eventually heal, but the rest of his eye is now fine and it hasn't been bothering him at all.

After we stopped in at the doctor on Saturday morning, Daddy and Faelyn dropped Maddox and I off at the Metrodome for Twins fest. It was OK. You definitely need a lot of money to really enjoy it. Autographs were between $5-50, most of the ones that were even worthy of getting were at least $10. Justin Morneau was $15 and I really would have paid that but we got there and got settled with some food before we even knew what the times, prices, etc of the autographs were and Morneau only had 10 minutes left signing and you could see the line of people in the suite on the other side of the ball park. We did walk past Gomez, Bonser, and Perkins who had autograph stands on the field where most of the commotion was. They were $10 for autographs. Bert Blyleven was signing in another suite when we were getting ready to go, but you couldn't see inside of it from where we had sat down to finish our chips. We got a couple things, including a poster of Cuddyer, Mauer, and Morneau and a Waste Management baseball bat that was signed (screen print signed) by Cuddyer. Maddox got a balloon sword but was pretty bummed out about it because he didn't get the one he asked the guy for and the guy said "he'll never notice"... Yeah, what 4 year old isn't going to notice that he got a scrawny little light blue sword and not the 3 times as fat and long dark blue one that shoots up in the air and floats back down to you... Flipping people!

First we got our food.

Then we braved the crowd.

Faelyn is....

+ Going from sitting to laying (on belly).
+ From laying (on belly) to sitting.
+ Occasionally pulling herself up.
+ Jabbering even more than before.
+ Jabbering to complain instead of crying.
+ Repeating "Da Da" to Clayton when he asks her to say it.
+ Getting up on all fours, rocking, and scooting backwards.
+ Scooting backwards while sitting (in the splits).
+ Rolling all over the place.
+ Unsuccessfully trying to stand up from a sitting position. She gets about 2-3 inches off of the floor while in the splits.
+ Unsuccessfully trying to walk without assistance. I have her hold my fingers and she pulls her arms down, lets go and tries to push my hands away... LOL

She'll be 7 Months on the 10th. I'm in some serious trouble!

Here she is trying to crawl!

IMG_6077

Here she had pulled herself up using her Toy Box (a completely different time from what I had mentioned in a previous post).
IMG_6096

Here she was rolling and scooting backwards while on her belly and got herself stuck underneath the ottoman... LOL
IMG_6097

If she hadn't sounded so desperate to get out, I would have taken a video of her jabbering. Maddox said "She told me to help her, so I came and told you!" (I had run downstairs to grab my camera.. Haha! Sorry Faye!)

Here she did not pull herself up, but she refused to sit and I was left with the options of lay her down or set up Maddox's old activity table. I figured we'd both be happier if she was able to stand a play. The first one I caught her off guard, the second she is laughing at Maddox, and the third she is posing, one handed, for the camera.

Yes, her socks ARE pulled up over her pants... Sorry Faye!
