Picture Post!

I try to take at least one picture of the kids sitting side by side each month. Some months are more cooperative than others...

January 9th - Faye is always lifting her body off of the floor.

The odd position in which she sits. I contemplate calling her Pediatric Othropedic Doc.

January 16th - Showing her the Snow. We still need to go outside. Grandma Diane has been leaving her boots at home so hopefully one of these ice cold days will be a little bit warm enough to take them out in the snow!

January 17th - It's supposed to be protective head gear...
IMG_6293

It didn't really work though!

Yep. That's a blurry Daddy with a "Bright Starts" bull ring...

January 26th - Faelyn's first painting experience.
IMG_6324

Yep, she hit her head... again.
IMG_6326

She cried because she was all done painting and now she is smiling because she painted...

Randomness

IMG_6254

I love the little wrinkles on her back because it always reminds me of when she was being born. When the bottom half of her little body was out and her arms were up and she was still in from her armpits up, she had all these wrinkles around her shoulder blades like when you lift your arms up and pull your shoulders back. Her whole back looked so soft and wrinkly. It's still as cute, just much bigger!

Crawling?

I don't know what all the technicalities are for announcing that she is crawling, but she can move forwards! She kind of drags her behind, but she has finally learned how to put one hand in front of the other and repeat. She has been rolling, sitting up, laying down, crawling backwards, and scooting backwards on her butt for quite some time now. This morning, she officially went forwards!

My trial version of Photoshop Elements ran out, so I'll have to remedy that before I can put any photos up. No crawling related ones, but pictures in general are always nice!

Scratched Cornea

Last Wednesday Maddox hit himself in the eye with the "WiiMote". It hurt pretty bad immediately and looked like it hurt bad, but after awhile he was fine. Later he was cupping his eye on and off all day saying that it was bothering him. The next day he was doing the same thing and his eye was watering a lot when we went outside, but not the other eye. We brought him in to Ready Care after Clayton got off work and it turns out that he didn't hit his eye with the Wii remote, but he poked his eye with his finger nail (he told the doctor he poked himself in the eye) and he scratched his cornea. Because of his age, they didn't want to do anything for it because it would probably irritate it more, but we had to make a trip back into the doctor on Saturday morning to have it looked at. He still has a scratch that will eventually heal, but the rest of his eye is now fine and it hasn't been bothering him at all.

After we stopped in at the doctor on Saturday morning, Daddy and Faelyn dropped Maddox and I off at the Metrodome for Twins fest. It was OK. You definitely need a lot of money to really enjoy it. Autographs were between $5-50, most of the ones that were even worthy of getting were at least $10. Justin Morneau was $15 and I really would have paid that but we got there and got settled with some food before we even knew what the times, prices, etc of the autographs were and Morneau only had 10 minutes left signing and you could see the line of people in the suite on the other side of the ball park. We did walk past Gomez, Bonser, and Perkins who had autograph stands on the field where most of the commotion was. They were $10 for autographs. Bert Blyleven was signing in another suite when we were getting ready to go, but you couldn't see inside of it from where we had sat down to finish our chips. We got a couple things, including a poster of Cuddyer, Mauer, and Morneau and a Waste Management baseball bat that was signed (screen print signed) by Cuddyer. Maddox got a balloon sword but was pretty bummed out about it because he didn't get the one he asked the guy for and the guy said "he'll never notice"... Yeah, what 4 year old isn't going to notice that he got a scrawny little light blue sword and not the 3 times as fat and long dark blue one that shoots up in the air and floats back down to you... Flipping people!

First we got our food.

Then we braved the crowd.

Faelyn is....

+ Going from sitting to laying (on belly).
+ From laying (on belly) to sitting.
+ Occasionally pulling herself up.
+ Jabbering even more than before.
+ Jabbering to complain instead of crying.
+ Repeating "Da Da" to Clayton when he asks her to say it.
+ Getting up on all fours, rocking, and scooting backwards.
+ Scooting backwards while sitting (in the splits).
+ Rolling all over the place.
+ Unsuccessfully trying to stand up from a sitting position. She gets about 2-3 inches off of the floor while in the splits.
+ Unsuccessfully trying to walk without assistance. I have her hold my fingers and she pulls her arms down, lets go and tries to push my hands away... LOL

She'll be 7 Months on the 10th. I'm in some serious trouble!

Here she is trying to crawl!

IMG_6077

Here she had pulled herself up using her Toy Box (a completely different time from what I had mentioned in a previous post).
IMG_6096

Here she was rolling and scooting backwards while on her belly and got herself stuck underneath the ottoman... LOL
IMG_6097

If she hadn't sounded so desperate to get out, I would have taken a video of her jabbering. Maddox said "She told me to help her, so I came and told you!" (I had run downstairs to grab my camera.. Haha! Sorry Faye!)

Here she did not pull herself up, but she refused to sit and I was left with the options of lay her down or set up Maddox's old activity table. I figured we'd both be happier if she was able to stand a play. The first one I caught her off guard, the second she is laughing at Maddox, and the third she is posing, one handed, for the camera.

Yes, her socks ARE pulled up over her pants... Sorry Faye!

Christmas Update

Here is the Christmas Card I ended up sending out. I got them out late because of indecision and frustration. But I did get them out. We got next to nothing for Christmas Cards this year. I think we got 5! Eek!

ChristmasCard08

Aunty Amy, Uncle Kerry, Dante, Ariana, Kaden, and Bubba came to Minnesota for Christmas! They got here on Monday the 22nd in the morning. They actually got there before I got over to my moms! Kaden's asthma started to really act up in the cold. Poor little guy couldn't breath while we were outside. My mom and (maybe) sister, dressed Faye up in some necklace(s). She loved it!

Christmas Eve, we went over to Clayton's grandparents house. Maddox got some action figure type toy, a movie, and a Artoo Potatoo. Faelyn got a cool little phone, musical snail, a cute outfit. Both kids got a Target gift card. Maddox had a blast being chased around by a couple little girls. Lilly is 2.5 years old and Sophia is approx. 21 months. Faye is a pro at opening presents! I'm sure she'll need no help on her birthday! Must take after her Daddy! Maddox and I both take our time and try not to rip the paper too much.

Christmas morning we opened presents at home and then went over to my mother's house. Maddox got Hungry Hungry Hippo and a Star Wars DS game from Santa and you'll never guess what Mommy and Daddy got him! Faye got a Musical Inchworm and a Tutu and Leg Warmers from Santa and ... um.. oh a Diaper from mom and dad. We didn't wrap her diaper though. I put it on her for her 6mo pictures at the beginning of Dec and she's been wearing it since then! I'd like to list all of the stuff that they got in their stockings, from grandparents, aunts, and uncles, but between the two of them, there was a lot of stuff and a lot of small stuff and I do not want to leave anything out. I'm sure no one would be offended if I forgot something, but I would still feel bad! They love all of their stuff though! And I am so happy that my house is NOT over run by toys.. (completely) lol

What? A Guitar? From mom and dad? Who would have guessed?!

I don't know why she is so red looking... Maybe it's my computer screen? I don't know. I am a little embarrassed that those are the only pictures that I took. Christmas is always so chaotic and now having to help Faye with her stuff, It's really hard to get pictures of both of them! Hopefully we'll have more next year! I know my sister and mother in law got some pictures. Possibly my mother too.

On the Move!

Faelyn's up on all fours! She doesn't have the forward crawl motion yet. She gets her legs going and forgets to move her arms and falls on her face, but she goes side to side and backwards. She also can get around on her butt. I'm not sure how, but she was sitting and she would lean forward and sideways, etc to grab things and she would be further and further away from her original location. I watched her. The whole time. I did not actually see her move! I'm sure it will only be a matter of days or weeks before she is completely crawling and I bet before she turns 8 months.

On the 24th, Faye pulled her self up on her toy box. First she was pulling on the toy box, but it kept tipping over towards her and then Daddy held down the other side of the toy box and Faelyn pulled herself right up into a standing position. When standing, her toy box comes up to about her waist. This girl is going to be quite a handful!

We've started solids. I cannot remember the exact date, but she had 3 days of peas, 4 days of Avocado, 4 days of pears, 2 samplings of broccoli, and 2 days of cauliflower. Yesterday she had sweet potatoes. She went a couple days without having anything. Christmas Eve and the 26th for sure and I cannot remember when else. That might have been the only day actually. So maybe it was the 12th that we started solids...... That sounds right.

I believe that's all for now, so I'll get to the pictures now.
