March Pictures! WARNING: There is a ton!

I cut a banana in half for Faye and cut a 1/4in of peel off at a time. She ate the entire half of the banana and probably would have had more if I hadn't already eaten the other half!

They handled it pretty well. Ana didn't even cry!

Maddox, Faye, and Aunty Amy got Influenza A. Ariana had strep. We think that Kaden and I got Influenza A, but we didn't test postive. The doctor said if I came in the next day, I probably would. It's been three weeks now and I believe it was probably the Flu. Maddox had a fever of 103-105 from Friday, March 20th to Tuesday, March 31st. It got up to 106.3 at one point and Maddox's lips and fingernail beds turned blue. He ended up vomiting twice on the drive home from TN. After two trips to the UC in TN, one trip to the ER in Iowa, and one trip to Ready Care in MN, we found out that Maddox also had Pneumonia. His WBC Count was 32,000 (normal range is 4,000-15,000) and his chest X-Ray showed a pretty bad case of Pneumonia. Wednesday, April 1st, he got an antibiotic shot and that was the end of his fever. Thursday, April 2nd, he got another WBC Count that came back almost normal, so he did not need another shot and was put on a 10 day long Augmentin treatment. Faye and Aunty Amy also got pneumonia. Faye wasn't too bad and from the sounds of it, Amy was pretty bad. She was starting to freak me out and the meds were not working and then all of a sudden she was much better! Ariana's meds took care of her right away and Kaden and I did not develope anything beyond the Flu. Kaden was so tired that he fell asleep EVERYWHERE. Faye would fall asleep randomly through out the day and that was very odd. That was the only way I could tell she was sick though. Her fever was very minor. Maddox was pretty tired, but did not fall asleep as easily as Kade. The first night, Friday the 20th, he really scared me. He fell asleep on the way to the mall to pick up a Guitar Hero game and we could not wake him up. Ariana and Dante were yelling his name really loud just a couple inches from his ear. I carried him through the mall and he kept sliding off my shoulder and he was drowling. He woke up by the time we left and fell asleep again on the way home but was a lot easier to wake up. He has a really bad cough. He sounded like a barking seal and said that it hurt to cough. Amy and I were searching the internet, looking at croup mostly. We checked his temp and it was pretty high. I got him some tylenol to take. He was sitting on the island in her kitchen and slumped over my shoulder and he kept asking "Is that you mom?" and when I would say yes it is, he pulled his head back, looked at me weird and shook his head. He seemed like he was having a hard time recognizing me and kept asking if it was me.

Maddox's rash - two days into the fever.
IMG_7135

Maddox was seeming to feel better and as long as we were giving him a fever reducer, he was fine, so we took the kids to Metropolis, IL to see Superman. Unfortnuately, Kaden started acting funny and when we took his temp, he was up pretty high too. I don't think either of the boys were below 103 unless they had taken Tylenol or Ibuprofen.

Amy had a freezer full of puree's so we had no problems finding Faye something to eat!
IMG_7226

Faye and Bubba were pretty tight!
IMG_7233

The poor sickie boys (and bubba) fell asleep waiting for lunch to be made! Not really a big deal since they were not eating. Maddox had not ate in 4.5 days at that point. Fortunately he was drinking very well.
IMG_7235

We drove past Graceland on Friday the 27th - This is the one day that Maddox did not have a fever.
IMG_7242

And bought Amy an Elvis Apron
IMG_7246

We tried to go to the Mud Island River Park but it doesn't open til April. Kaden slipped and fell in a puddle.... Go figure!

He did insist on listening to some live music though. Then he wanted to go home.

Faye took over Aunty's fruit bowl. They are all bruised because Kaden was rolling them to Maddox who then kicked them across the room like a soccer ball....

Clayton drove down on Friday. They were playing Peek-A-Boo. Strange how I didn't end up getting a single picture of Clayton in Tennessee!

We decided to drive through Missouri and Iowa instead of Illinois and Wisconsin, so we drove past the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. There are so many trees I had a hard time getting a pic.
IMG_7369

IMG_7370

Maddox was pretty miserable on the way home. At one point he kept opening his eyes and mumbling things and smiling at me, but he wasn't really awake, he wouldn't respond to me at all and then he'd stop, close his eyes and put his head down. It was really weird.
IMG_7385

In Iowa after he barfed all over himself (and then for a second time into a Taco Bell cup). His skin color turned from blue to rosey pink. Poor boy was burning up and his temp was rising despite the tylenol we gave him. I called his doc office in MN at 8PM, about an hour after the "episode" and told them about it and that his temp wasn't going down with meds and they had us go straight into the ER in Iowa. We didn't get to the ER until closer to 9PM though. We will be fighting any charges from the hospital because they all they did was give him Ibuprofen and tell us that there was nothing wrong with him and it was safe to continue driving home.

These winter pictures I never posted because I need to fix the coloring on that but I do not have the time and probably won't for a long time, so I'll just post them how they are.
